Clubhouse

Most Sussex Sailability activities take place at the Shoreham clubhouse of Sussex Yacht club.

The Shoreham clubhouse has been specially adapted to be fully wheelchair accessible.  Facilities include:

  • Several disabled parking spaces close to the clubhouse and launch rame
  • Automatically opening doors with wheelchair friendly push button control
  • Level access to the changing and toilet facilities on the ground floor of the SYC clubhouse.  This includes a disabled toilet
  • A wheelchair lift to the first floor of the SYC clubhouse where there is a bar and restaurant with fabulous views over the Adur River

Getting afloat

Sussex Sailability has specially designed pontoon hoists to enable people who are not able to transfer onto a boat independently to get aboard our boats.  All hoists are regularly inspected and operated by trained volunteers

Sussex Sailability boats are specially adapted to be suitable for disabled sailors.  Look at our boats to find one that will suit you.
